Do you ever get mad at your doctor, nurse, or medical staff? Geesh… I about blew a fuse the other day when I heard about my Dad’s latest visit to the doctor’s office.
OK, so my dad is getting up there in age… over 70 years old now, and he’s always been a hard worker. And, he’s gotta have one of the hardest working guardian angels in the universe! My dad is the type of guy who, if he doesn’t have any work outside to do, he goes crazy. It’s kind of funny, because almost every couple months it seems he has an accident that could easily put him in the hospital…
- Like the time when he was pounding a fence post into the ground with a sledgehammer, and somehow lost control and bonked his head, knocking him out and to the ground.
- Or, the time he was holding up a trailer with his knee, reaching for a log, accidentally dropped the trailer on his other leg, and almost crushed himself out in the back yard. (Thankfully he had his cell phone with him!)
- Then there was the time he fell out of his pickup truck and landed on his newly-repaired shoulder that was in a sling after rotator cuff surgery 3 days earlier!
- And there are dozens of other stories like this, all throughout the years. (Like when he got run over by a car when he was a kid… I could go on…) (He’s definitely going to owe his guardian angel BIG TIME… lol
Now, more about his doctor…
You might already know about my dad’s acid reflux story, which we have been telling for over five years now, at www.refluxremedy.com (our best selling report, by far). He has had several near death experiences with that whole ordeal: went in for ulcer surgery, came out with a botched surgery that leaked bile into his stomach and caused terrible reflux for several years, until he found the “apple cure” and later had corrective surgery to re-route the bile into his intestine.
That was 30+ years ago… Just yesterday, he had another possibly fatal medical boo-boo happen! And again, it was due to a doctor mistake… Here’s the story…
–STORY CONTINUED FROM E-MAIL–
My dad has really been wearing out his body over the past 5-10 years. He’s had operations on both shoulders, scopes on both knees, and a total knee replacement. And now, he needs the other knee totally replaced. Surgery was scheduled for yesterday, and last week he went in for a pre-op exam. During the exam they determined he had a case of shingles that broke out on his arm, but they didn’t think that would hinder him having surgery.
In the meantime, my dad was having EXCRUCIATING pain in his right shoulder (the same shoulder of the arm that had shingles – but due to him pulling too hard on a weed wacker, which recoiled 2-3x). His shoulder hurt 100x more than his knee… so…
He asked if he could postpone the knee surgery so they could fix his shoulder, but they told him “Sorry… No! We’ve already got your knee surgery scheduled, and we’re not going to change things now!”
When I heard that, I was ticked off! Whatever happened to patient’s rights?
Anyway, yesterday, when he went into the surgical center to have knee surgery, the doctor saw him first and, once he found out he had shingles, he said “Sorry, Bob, but we’re not going to be operating today.” Turns out that the shingles virus/infection could spread to his knee and cause a staph infection, or even worse. That would NOT be good. Thankfully, the doctor sent him home.
Ugh.
But the good news is, the doctor had the courage enough to admit to the clinic’s mistake in even letting him get out of pre-op with his surgery still scheduled. So now, he’ll be waiting… and thankfully, he’s found a pain medication that works to take
away the shooting pain from his shoulder.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY
======================
You really need to take responsibility for your own health.
Don’t be afraid to really question your doctors and nurses.
They make mistakes!
In fact, more people die every year from medical mistakes than cancer or heart disease!
That’s scary, isn’t it?
A wise philosopher once said “If you’re not your own doctor by the time you’re 40 years old, you’re a fool.”
Very sad, but full of wisdom.
And that is exactly what our Home Cures That Work membership is all about.
Yesterday, we had a “Grand Opening” of Home Cures That Work – even though we’ve really been “open” for almost 10 months now.
We had several hundred people take advantage of our special Lifetime Membership, at the low price of a one-time $61.00 payment (to celebrate my mom’s 61st birthday, after surviving stage-4 breast cancer for the 2nd time in 15 years!)
And I wanted to remind you that it’s definitely NOT TOO LATE for you to take advantage of this amazing offer.

Think of what you pay for health insurance… how much is it each year?
What if you could pay an extra $61 once, and pretty much guarantee that you’d get better health care — and a better understanding of your own body — so you can better represent and protect yourself from doctors and nurses on future visits!?!!
It’s really an investment in YOU.
And, as you know, I’m a big believer in making consistent, small, healthy choices, every day.
The more small changes you make in a positive direction, the more big results you’ll see over a long period of time.
